Tom had to take the black heart out of equinus and give it to his father so his father wouldn't be a ghost anymore if tom doesn't go on this quest his father Taladon will be a ghost forever.

Equinus's power was to take people's spirits and that's how Storm got dead.The dead jungle was where the amulet got hidden.Tom climbed a tree to try and reach the amulet.

I loved tbis book because Tom had to defeat Equinus to save Storm and he could split into two things, a horse and a man.

I liked it because the spirit horse can go up to people in ghost form. Series 4 has ghost beasts

This was a very suspenseful book. Tom and Elenna were my favourite characters because they both defeated the beast. Equinus doesn't kill he takes spirits from living things. I would recommend this to my brothers.
