Prodigy by Marie Lu is the long-awaited sequel to Legend, THE must-read dystopian thriller novel.

Perfect for all YA fans of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and Divergent by Veronica Roth. A brilliant re-imagining of Les Miserables, the series is set to be a global film sensation as CBS films have acquired rights to the trilogy. The Twilight Saga producers, Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, will produce.

Injured and on the run, it has been seven days since June and Day barely escaped Los Angeles and the Republic with their lives. Day is believed dead having lost his own brother to an execution squad who thought they were assassinating him. June is now the Republic’s most wanted traitor.

Desperate for help, they turn to the Patriots – a vigilante rebel group sworn to bring down the Republic. But can they trust them or have they unwittingly become pawns in the most terrifying of political games?

Dystopian fiction at its very best in this thrilling installment in the Legend trilogy.

It was a roller coaster book i had so much fun reading this. it was deeper perspectives of the characters thinking of each other but overall it was a book i could not put down read it all in a night. Kaede one of the character: Had a amazing personality compared to the other first book she made me laugh and also upset when she died. this book was perfect.

a great sequel! does not beat catching fire in terms of the second book in a dystopian trilogy, but is far better than insurgent in my opinion. the synopsis says: Injured and on the run, it has been seven days since June and Day barely escaped Los Angeles and the Republic with their lives. Day is believed dead having lost his own brother to an execution squad who thought they were assassinating him. June is now the Republic's most wanted traitor. Desperate for help, they turn to the Patriots - a vigilante rebel group sworn to bring down the Republic. But can they trust them or have they unwittingly become pawns in the most terrifying of political games? The book started by jumping in right where we left off, giving a quick and subtle recap of the ending of the first book, and updating you on the situation. I liked how the plot didn’t start slowly, it was moving fast, but as this book is longer than the first one, in general I thought the plot wasn’t as rushed. The book continued at this pace, as June and Day joined the Patriots and as June went back to the Republic. It was an interesting choice, plot-wise, to bring June back there. The plot overall had me somewhat hooked, I thought it was interesting. The ending sped up slightly, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and was ready to start the third one right away. I liked how they brought back the Elector’s son, Anden, and showed his different view on the Republic. The characters in this one were mostly the same, and we didn’t see too many of them develop, except Tess, June, Kaede and Day. I really enjoyed seeing Kaede explain her past and her view on the Colonies, it was a fresh perspective for both me and Day. And I had to try not to hate Tess, for making the romance feel like a love triangle, but when I truly think about it she wasn’t really in the wrong. Some things she said about June were correct, but definitely influenced by her own personal bias. And I liked how the book didn’t really focus on June and Day’s romance, and more on the Patriots and the Republic. Overall, a great book, I don’t think it’s worthy of a five star rating but was not mediocre enough for a three star. Can’t wait to read champion!
