The book was fiction. My favourite character was Little Manfred the dog because he is famous. I would recommend this book to kids aged 8-12 was amazing.

It was a non-fiction book. I liked little Manfred. It's a book about two Germans lifestyle.

My favourite character was Mannie because he always chased after everything you threw. I was quite suprised that two men who had been in the war knew how to make a little wooden dog. I would recomend this to everyone I loved it.

I enjoyed this book as it was about this sister and brother talking to some strangers all the way from Germany, who have stopped at the coast. The two children find out why there pet dog and a little toy that was belonged to their mother, were called Manfred and little Manfred. It is a heart warming story and would recomend to children and adults who are fans of michael morphugo books and enjoy stories about the way

I thougt this book was enchanting! I think that Manfred, the man, not the dog, is a very kind and noble man and was so very patient with Grace. I think it was so very generous and compassionate of him to give Grace the little dog and now I don't wonder why Grace was so upset when the wheel came off and why she always stared at it. I would have too if I was Grace. I think my favirote charcter is the man Manfred because of generoristy that most people lack. I was touched by his kindness even though this is onlya book. I would reccomend it to all ages because this is a mysterius book that every one will love. It has no scary parts but it is not babay-ish either.

It was such a good book, with a heartwarming tale. From the horrors of the war at sea, to the mines in the beaches, to the happy days spent on the farm, to the happy reunion of old friends....well some of them. It was an amazing book, and I loved every single bit.
