Pride and Prejudice
Jane Austen
When Elizabeth Bennet first meets eligible bachelor Fitzwilliam Darcy, she thinks him arrogant and conceited; he is indifferent to her good looks and lively mind. When she later discovers that Darcy has involved himself in the troubled relationship between his friend Bingley and her beloved sister Jane, she is determined to dislike him more.
Reviews

Pride and Prejudice is a story about the Bennet family, especially the second oldest daughter, Elizabeth Bennet. The Bennet family has five daughters, and their mother is very worried about finding good husbands for all of them. When a rich young man named Mr. Bingley moves into the neighborhood, everyone is excited because he might be a good match for one of the Bennet girls. Mr. Bingley quickly likes Jane, the oldest Bennet sister, but his friend Mr. Darcy seems very proud and not very nice at first. Elizabeth, or Lizzy as her family calls her, is the main character. She’s smart, independent, and doesn’t want to marry just because she’s supposed to. She wants to marry someone she truly loves and respects. At first, she doesn’t like Mr. Darcy at all because he seems rude and looks down on people who are not as rich as him. But as the story goes on, Elizabeth learns that Mr. Darcy is actually a good and kind person, and that she was too quick to judge him. One of my favorite parts of the book is seeing how Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy change. Elizabeth realizes that she was wrong about Mr. Darcy, and Mr. Darcy learns to be less proud and more caring about other people’s feelings. By the end of the book, they both understand each other better and fall in love, even though they didn’t like each other at first. My favorite character is Elizabeth Bennet because she’s strong, clever, and doesn’t let anyone tell her what to do. She stands up for herself and her family, and she cares more about what a person is really like than about how wealthy they are or how they look. I also like how she’s funny and has a good sense of humor, even when things are tough. I really enjoyed reading Pride and Prejudice because it’s about love, but it’s also about learning to see past first impressions and not judging people too quickly. The story has a lot of interesting characters, and it’s fun to see how their relationships change and grow. Even though the book was written a long time ago, the things the characters go through, like family pressures and finding true love, are still important today. I am very grateful that there isn't the pressure or need to get married like there was back in the day. I would definitely recommend Pride and Prejudice to my friends, especially if they like stories about romance and strong characters. It’s a great book that shows how important it is to be kind, honest, and open-minded, and I think a lot of people would enjoy reading it.

This was a nice fiction book and I enjoyed reading the ending as there was a sort of twist but then it was solved.

It was very interesting as it displayed how you can't judge how someone behaves/acts by just looking at them. However, having said this, I would not recommend this book to anyone because of how there is not anything else but marriage being mentioned which I found quite boring. If this book was based on something else rather than marriage, it could have been amazing.

I really like this book because the characters are funny. I thought it was hard to read with the old language but it is easier if someone reads it to you. I would definitely recommend this book.

This book is hard going but worth the worth. Jane Austen puts the picture in your head perfectly. My favorite character is Mrs. Bennett as she is always complaining about her sensitive nerves. I would recommend this book to year 7 upwards as the vocabulary is tricky
