The second and most widely known in the series of the classic fantasy tales – The Chronicles of Narnia. Read by the unforgettable Sir Michael Hordern.

“This is the land of Narnia,” said the Faun, “where we are now. And you – you have come from the wild woods of the west?”

“I – I got in through the wardrobe in the spare room,” said Lucy.

Lucy steps into the Professor’s wardrobe – but steps out again into a snowy forest. She’s stumbled upon the magical world of Narnia, land of unicorns, centaurs, fauns… and the wicked White Witch, who terrorises all. Lucy soon realises that Narnia, and in particular Aslan, the great Lion, needs her help if the country’s creatures are ever going to be free again…

I thought it was brilliant because I like reading about people having adventures. I liked Aslan the king lion. I would recommend it to someone who likes scary things and adventures.

Absolutely amazing! A great story about four siblings sent to a country house where they are safe from the bombing in London (WW2). One day Lucy finds a wardrobe that transports her to a magical world called Narnia. There they join the magical lion, Aslan, in the fight against the evil White Witch, Jadis. I definitely recommend this story to anyone who loves reading!

Aslan was my favourite character. I found the traditional language difficult to interpret and am not keen on fantasy texts.

This book is about four children who are evacuees and are evacuated to this old mansion with a professor. While they were exploring the house one day, the youngest child Lucy found a wardrobe and went into it. As she went further and further into the wardrobe she realises that she is not in the wardrobe any more but she is actually in another realm called Narnia. She discovers about the 'Queen Of Narnia' who is actually an evil lady called the 'White Witch'. She tells her siblings ,Peter, Susan and Edmund about it and they all try to help Aslan 'The Mighty King' defeat her.

I loved this book and it was incredibly fun. It carries on amazingly well from The Magician's Nephew. I recommend it to 8-12 year olds.
