Floss’ parents split up when she was younger and she now divides up her week, spending five days with her mum, her mum’s new boyfriend and her new baby half-brother. The other two days Floss spends with her dad, helping him to run his greasy spoon cafe. But then their simple arrangement is thrown into disarray when Floss’ mum decides to move to Australia for six months. Floss has to choose whether to go with her or stay with her dad. She picks her dad and they muddle along happily together, surviving on chip butties and enjoying visits to the local funfair. But then disaster strikes, Dad’s money troubles catch up with him and they have to move out of the cafe. They’re homeless – but can their new fairground friends help out? This title presents another gripping and emotionally involving slice of family life from the award-winning, bestselling author, Jacqueline Wilson.

I would definitely recommend this book. It is amazing even if it didn’t reach my rare five stars. This book is about a girl called Floss (otherwise known as Flossie or Flora). Her parents are divorced so she lives with her mum and spends weekends with her dad. Then Floss’s mum’s new boyfriend Steve gets a promotion in his work, but that means they have to move to Australia for SIX MONTHS. Without dad. But Flossie is brave and decides to protest and ends up spending six months. She has had some changes of friendship and her dad meets his love, Rose, from the fair. One day, there is a fire in the van but dad wasn’t there. Flossie couldn’t get out. Will dad have saved Flossie? Or will she have burnt to ashes? Floss’s perspective: Hi, I’m Flora Barnes, call me Floss. I am going to tell you about some events in my life. It started off with mums new husband Steve. Ughh, he’s horrible. Smirking and scowling and sneering. Well, he got a job promotion and I was supposed to go to Australia for SIX MONTHS. I wouldn’t even be able to bring my BFF Rhiannon. Oh, Rhiannon is soooo popular. She has this beautiful, long glossy black hair past her waist and even sneaks in crimson red lipstick when she can. She bought me this AMAZING real rose quartz bracelet for my birthday. Back to Steve and his promotion. I decided to stick with dad. He needed me more. Mum wanted me but she already had Steve and Tiger. Dad was extremely pleased but tried to disguise it. The next day Rhiannon was acting weird. Did she know about Australia? Why was she talking to the horrid teasing Margot and her sidekick rude Judy? Something was up… Read it to find out!

I thought that this book was really good and definitely rate it 5/5!! I really love these types of books, interesting fictional stories about a person's life. Jaqueline made another great success of a book!! My favourite person was Floss' Dad because he was really kind to everyone and would protect Floss with his life, he cares for her so much. I would most definitely recommend, I hope that anyone who reads this book enjoys it!

I loved reading this book because, like every other of Jaqueline Wilsons books, it's emotional but exiting. It's about a girl called Floss who lives in two places. Her mom's house and her Dads cafe. But suddenly a massive change and she has to make a massive decision with could change her life...
