Carter And Sadie Kane, descendants of the magical House of Life, are in pretty big trouble. Despite their bravest efforts, Apophis, the giant snake of Chaos, is still threatening to plunge the world into eternal darkness. Now the Kanes must do something no magician has ever managed - defeat Apophis himself.

It's really good, it has the thrill of excitement and danger, as well as in-the-story jokes between the characters.

I like the whole book and I can’t decide what thought’s to put down. I also can’t decide my favourite character and I would definitely recommend it to someone who likes Egyptian mythology.

I would recommend this book because it's exciting*, funny** and also a bit dramatic. You can never guess what is going to happen next! Especially Felix What Carter would call "Sadie's guy drama".

I liked the mix of modern and Egyptian mythology. Sadie is my favourite character because she is so good with magic and boys. Zia hosting Ra was actually quite surprising.

It was alright. I think that Rick Riordan, as an author, is very clever. His style is rather enjoyable, and this book made me giggle in certain places. But, for me, it wasn't as good as the others in the series. It felt a little bit samey- oh no! There's a monster/god that's gonna destroy us all! Let's go on some fun side quests before struggling in a battle and then winning! The end annoyed me as well: why was it a Happily Ever After? Even if Rick planned to discontinue the series, surely a cliff-hanger would've been an appropriate, more exciting ending? Nonetheless, an alright book. 4 stars.

I loved it as it's full of action, adventure and especially magic. I liked Carter the most as he's the kind of person I would like to be. Yes, I would definitely recommend it.

I got really engaged in this book because like the part where Carter fights. I like Carter the best. Sadie is great but I think she does not really listen to people and a bit bossy.

This book was AWSOME.I do not know what Rick Riordan was thinking but it must have been fantastic. It has everything to make it a awesome book. Good thing Rick kept his features in check so it doesn't get to weird which I don't think is exactly possible. But who knows miracles can happen as one of the main characters came from a British school girl to a magician to a thief back to a magician and then finally a Hero who is finally accepted.Be warned this book has to many hilarious jokes.

The Serpent's Shadow was an amazing book and it was such a great way to end the Kane Chronicles book series (though Carter and Sadie are also in the book 'Demigods and Magicians') This book series is by Rick Riordan (my favourite author) and is all about ancient Egyptian myths which I found very interesting. It is a fiction book. My favourite person is Zia because she is brave and warrior-like. I would DEFINITELY recommend this book to people aged 9+ Thanks, Principal Ariel Peanut Butter
