Gabriella Midwinter used to have a home. She wasn’t invisible back then… For fans of Cathy Cassidy and Jacqueline Wilson, a stunning new novel from the author of SHINE, GLITTER, SEA OF STARS and A MILLION ANGELS. “What’s strange is that the day it actually happened, everything seemed so normal.” Caught between arguing parents and moving house, twelve-year-old Gabriella somehow slips through the cracks. Now she’s more alone than ever before. The city streets are no place for young girls but they’re all she’s got. Unless she can find her brother Beckett. Unless she can find her home.

I really enjoyed this book as it was full of emotions. Gabriella was put through many heartbreaking, tearful moments. I wanted to see if she was all right in the end.

I thought this book was awesome. Gabriella was never listened to. The Dad din't deserve her. He liked Amy and he wasn't going to let her go for anything. I'm surprised though. Amy's Mum is totally different. She is no nice and gave Gabriella a ton of things. Henny was bad. It was defintiely bad enough breaking into someone's house and robbing but involving an inoccent, unexperienced girl was out of logic, reason or sense. I can't believe when Beckett asked Gabriella to go to live with him she was a bit hesitant. I mean, he was only trying to help. He was so kind to Gabriella, even when she was young, taking blame for things he didn't do, just to protect Gabriella. I can't believe he had the amazing singer, that Gabriella loved, as his girlfriend and hte lemon-juggler as his best friend. Also, Connar and Jadie are so cute and Gabruella definitely made them super happy, a bit like Beckett. My faviroute character is definitely Beckett because he is so kind and caring. He really did protect Gabriella and was an amazing big brother. No wonder Gabriella wanted him so much, sure that he would know what to do. I was shocked that Mum's cover-story (instead of that he just stormed out) was that he died. Tht was honestly shocking. I didn't know she could be so cruel. True, Connar also said that but he was probably threatened terribly and he was only young. I would reccomend it to everyone as this book was great and will keep you reading until you've finished it, eyes glued to the page, ears taking in every word you read. A great feeling. It leaves you with a great feeling.

This book is very good for people who like a bit of adventure. My favourite character was Gabriella because she never quit she was also very brave. I would recommend this book to 9-10-11-12 year olds especially the ones that like a bit of adventure and want a real page turner.

Meet Gabriella. A teenage girl who is hated badly by her Dad's girlfriend Amy. When Dad and Amy leave her to rot, Gab has lost all hope of her best friend, as well as losing her home, school and family. Determined to reunite herself with her long-lost older brother Beckett, Gabriella sets out on a quest to find him. Leaving her whole life behind her, nothing will get in her way. Or will it? A heart-breaking,outstanding novel written by amazing author Kate Maryon.

I think other children should read this book because her characters are so creative and all have different personalitys, it is a very moving book and I can not even imagine what it would feel like to be in the main character's shoes. I feel it is a 'must read' for ages 9 to any age after, I enjoyed it thoroughly and people my age should definitely consider reading it :)
