The BBC 500 Words competition is back

The BBC 500 Words competition is back

If you’re between 5 and 13 years old and you like writing short stories, then this is the competition for you!

Enter your short story in the BBC 500 Words competition for your chance to win some truly amazing prizes

Taking part is simple: all you have to do is make up a story – about ANYTHING you like – using no more than 500 words.

Everyone who enters the competition will be entered into a prize draw to party at the 500 Words Final at Hampton Court Palace, where superstar celebrities will read the winning stories live on the radio and some of the biggest names in pop will perform.

This year’s lucky winners will also be taken for a spin around the palace in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, before climbing aboard The Queen’s rowbarge, Gloriana, for tea on the River Thames. As if that wasn’t enough, there are stacks of brilliant books to be won too!

The competition will close for entries at 7pm sharp on Thursday 22nd February, so get scribbling!

Visit the 500 Words website to find out more about this year’s competition and submit your story

Good luck!
