Update from Essex Libraries (Wendy)
Essex Libraries

Here in Essex Libraries books are flying off the shelves as children take part in Creepy House. 32,000 children have joined so far and if everyone reads 6 books then 192,000 books will be borrowed and read in Essex this summer!!! The most popular authors so far are Daisy Meadows (who writes the Rainbow Fairies series), Julia Donaldson (author of the fabulous Room on the Broom), Adam Blade (author of the Beast Quest series), Francesca Simon (who writes the Horrid Henry series) and Mick Inkpen (author of the Kipper books). Who are your favourite authors?
i am interested in tom gates already
Glad to hear that Lord Grip Quagmire. The first one in the series is called The Brilliant World of Tom Gates so look out for it next time you visit your local library, and the good news is there are 5 more in the series to read after that!!
Stacy Gregg, Michael Morpurgo,
Can you suggest any other books I am into Horses (Stacy Gregg) and gripping tales (Michael Morpurgo).
Hi Queen Heroica Gormenghast. For more great horsey stories you could try the Tilly’s Pony Tales series by Pippa Funnell, the Heartland or Chesnut Hill series by Lauren Brooke, the Loving Spirit or Sky Horses series by Linda Chapman or the Pony Camp Diaries series by Kelly McKain. For a gripping read why not try the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket or anything by Anthony Horowitz.
I like Paula Harrison who writes The Rescue Princesses books and Faerie Tribes which is a longer book.
Hi Coach Iggy Jamboree. Yes we like Paula Harrison’s books too! Some other series you might like are Tiara Club by Vivian French, Spell Sisters by Amber Castle, Princess Poppy by Janey Jones and Fairy House by Kelly Mckain
Mine is michael morpurgo, jeff kinney, adam blade, tom palmer, rene goscinny and albert uderzo
Hi Lord Grip Quagmire. Those are fabulous authors – Michael Morpurgo is a particular favourite of mine. If you like Jeff Kinney then you might also like to try the Big Nate series by Lincoln Pierce or the Tom Gates series by Liz Pichon and lots of people who enjoy Adam Blade’s Beast Quest series also like the Percy Jackson books by Rick Riordan
do u have plop city?
Hi Superintendent Viktor Pumbernickel. Essex Libraries does have copies of Plop City By Enid Richemont, but if you don’t live in Essex you’ll need to check with your local library next time you visit. If they haven’t ask a member of staff if they can get it for you
