Roll on Thursday!

Hi, we are the children’s team at Renfrewshire Libraries – Pauline, Debbie, Annette, Andrew, James and Kay. We are really looking forward to the Creepy House Summer Reading Challenge starting when schools break up for the holidays this Thursday. We’ve got loads of great activities planned including making monster magnets, spider windmills and spooky finger puppets. We’ve also got special Zoolab animal handling workshops with some real creepy crawlies! Right now we are picking our favourite books to to put on our Creepy House displays including “Horrid Henry’s Haunted House” by Francesca Simon, “The Demon Headmaster” by Gillian Cross, “The Graveyard Book” by Neil Gaiman, and “What’s in the Witch’s Kitchen?” by Nick Sharratt. We’d love to hear about any scary books that you have read. Oh, and in case you are wondering who the friendly monsters are at the front of our picture – they are the Skoobs – they live in the library and love reading the books at night when everyone has gone home!

wow but where is Renfrewshire?

Hi Duchess! Renfrewshire is in Scotland (near Glasgow). The largest town is Paisley which is famous for its cotton mills and weavers, also the Paisley Pattern.

The spooky thing is we also have a history of witches ………..I must fly off on my broom now and read some more!
