Hello from the Children’s Team from Essex Libraries – Apryl; Cathy; Julie; Sarah; Sue and Wendy. We are a busy bunch. When we are not in the libraries we love running, acting, writing, making things and travelling (although not all at the same time!) Most of all though, we love books and sharing stories with children so the summer holidays are our favourite time of year and we love the Summer Reading Challenge. We are really busy at the moment because Creepy House is proving very popular with customers in our 74 libraries and 11 mobiles. We do have a problem though – we can’t decide who our favourite Creepy House character is – some of us like Spookitty, others prefer Headless Harry. Which character is your favourite?

There are some brilliant characters, we love Headless Harry too and we wouldn’t like to meet the Hothouse Horror in our gardens or anyone elses! Have you read any creepy books yet? One of our favourites is The Spooky Spooky House by Andrew Weale, lots of flaps and pop-up surprises.
Hi. This isn’t really about the topic, but I couldn’t find a suitable blog post to put my question on. I’m not sure if you’ll have the answer but I’ll be glad of any of your help. After the summer reading scheme finishes, will this website still be open and can you keep on getting badges for reading books? Thanks for your help!
Hi Judge Mistral Bonsai, The website will continue and you can log how many books you have read after Creepy House has finished in Libraries. Hope this helps.
I really like Skeleton Family Robinson, Twilight Tim, Wolf Kid, Spookitty and Bunny Boy because they’re all cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We like Twilight Tim too! We also like Granny Hyde and Spookitty. Tell us all about what stickers you have already got. Some of them smell really bad.
