Did you know that Saturday 23 April marked 400 years since William Shakespeare was alive? If he was still around today, he’d be more than 450 years old!

We all know that Shakespeare wrote poems and plays that we still enjoy today – but what books would you choose for him to read if he was alive in 2016?

Shakespeare wrote about magic and witchcraft in Macbeth and The Tempest – maybe he’d be a fan of the Harry Potter series

He wrote comedic plays too, like A Midsummer Night’s Dream, where the characters get up to a lot of mischief playing tricks. Perhaps Shakespeare would enjoy funny books like The Twits or the Tom Gates series

What sort of books do you think Shakespeare would enjoy reading?
