Do you love to make up your own stories?

Are you between 5 and 13 years of age?

Then you should enter the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show’s 500 Words competition!

All you have to do is write an original short story, using no more than (you guessed it!) 500 words.

There are some amazing prizes up for grabs – if you’re a winner your story will be read out live on the radio by a celebrity, and you’ll get to see your favourite stars performing at the Final!

The judging panel includes real-life royalty HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, plus amazing authors like Charlie Higson and Francesca Simon (author of the Horrid Henry series)!

Check out the awesome animation to learn all about the competition:

To be in with a chance of winning, submit your story by 7pm on Thursday 25 February

Head to the BBC 500 Words website for more information

While you’re there, read all about the amazing experiences of some previous winners

If you’re in need of some inspiration, check out the 500 Words Alphabot and listen to some words of wisdom from the marvellous Malory Blackman

Good luck!
