Creeping Round the House!

For starters, I had fun using my alphabet fridge magnets to write ‘Creepy House’ and used them to make up some other spooky words: wurper; bleem; flirm; squisher… I bet you could come up with some good ones.
I took my niece to school this morning where lots of pupils were dressed up as fairytale characters after finishing their Fairyland topic. There were some creepy-looking (but in a nice way!) boys and girls, like the dragon and the scary giant, and they’d had lots of fun reading fairytales. It made me think that fairytales would be great to read as part of the Summer Reading Challenge and I’ll definitely be recommending them.
Later on I went to a nursery graduation where all the boys and girls were given books as a present from Kelly Street Children’s Centre. How good is that? They were thrilled with all the fantastic books and thought they were brilliant gifts. If you’re going to any parties this summer, why not take a book as a present? Birthday boys and girls will be over the moon!
Me and my wee girl spent lots of time this afternoon reading ‘You Choose’ by Nick Sharratt and Pippa Goodhart. I’ve just ordered lots of copies of this book for our libraries because they’re SO much fun! ‘You Choose’ is excellent for an afternoon during the summer when you’re feeling a bit bored. Have a look and see why… you’ll honestly spend hours chatting about it.
